About the ACCP

What is the ACCP?

The Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists is a collaborative effort between four professional associations, to recognise suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Physiologists with national accreditation and facilitate annual renewal of this accreditation.

Accreditation allows:

• The protection of the general public through the accountability that accreditation affords.
• Individual professionals to promote themselves as as Accredited Clinical Physiologists.
• Employers to seek Accredited Clinical Physiologists.

Currently, accreditation covers Clinical Physiologists employed in Cardiac, Neurophysiology, Respiratory and Sleep Science in public and private hospitals and clinics throughout Australia.

Key to the accreditation process is the protection of the general public through the accountability that accreditation affords, within each discipline’s scope of practice, for those professionals employed in public and private hospitals and clinics throughout Australia.

The ACCP also:

• Provides a forum for clinical, scientific and technical communication between affiliated bodies, members and others
• Engages with Government, Educational, Statutory and other Professional entities
• Promotes knowledge advancement, continued excellence and further training of Clinical Physiologists
